The Japanese word for "Trout" is masu マス.
- In Japanese, a masu fish is any fish whose name ends in masu 鱒. Literally. A good number of them are trouts, but some are Salmons.
- The Trout and the Salmon are alike, but one difference is that the Trout usually stays in freshwater, while the Salmon migrates to salt water.
