Translation
wāmu means "Worm" in English.
It's a katakanization, a loan-word.
- Normally, when we say "Worm" in English, we're referring to a certain kind of Worm: the Earthworm, or, in Japanese, the mimizu ミミズ. The far less common term, zenchuu 蠕虫, means "Worm" in the generic sense: including aquatic worms, flatworms, etc. [1]
